A tad over-priced!
During my stay at Ingledene Guest House, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the friendly service. The double room I stayed in may have been small, but it was perfect for my two-night beach getaway. The bed, although not huge, was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The cleanliness of the room was satisfactory, although I did notice a bit of rubbish in the drawers that could have been cleaned. The highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast and the attentive service provided by the staff. The location of the guest house was also convenient, in a quiet residential area with parking available. While there were some minor drawbacks, such as the small bathroom and the low water pressure in the shower, I believe that Ingledene Guest House offers good value for the money. I had a nice weekend away, but I might consider staying at a different place next time if the price is more in line with the quality.

The only good point about our stay was the hospitality of the manager and the fact that we only paid £75 for two adults and two children with breakfast. That's less than £20 a head so I suppose I should have expected a very basic stay!
Our first impression was that the guest house was shabby and in need of complete renovation. Things didn't improve when we were greeted by a young foreign person (who struggled with English), instead of the manager. Our room was less than basic with tears in the wall paper and a broken bunk bed. The toilet seat was broken, the pillows were cheap hollow fibre which had been flattened solid with age (although I have to say that the manager replaced them as soon as I complained), and the furniture was the cheapest of cheap. The tv didn't work properly, the breakfast was on a par with Jo's Cafe, and the shower just dribbled out. The only attempts to add a bit of luxury to our room was the addition of a tatty valence above the window which was hanging off in several places. Still the sun shone, the beach was only a short walk away and even taking into consideration our disappointing guest house, we had a lovely time all in all.

The decoration of the hotel was lovely, with a warm and homely atmosphere that made it feel welcoming. The general areas, such as the lounge and dining room, were comfortable and well-maintained. As a senior woman, I appreciated that the hotel had good accessibility, with ramps and handrails in place to assist those with mobility difficulties. It made navigating the hotel much easier for me.
I would have preferred if the children working there had been a bit more attentive to the needs of seniors. While they were friendly and helpful, I had to ask for assistance on a couple of occasions, which could have been anticipated considering the target audience of the hotel.

The location of the hotel is great, right near the beach in a very nice part of the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with lovely bedding that smells nice. The bathroom is well-maintained and the hot water is plentiful. The service is friendly and the hotel manager is approachable and helpful. The breakfast is basic but nice, with lots of choices available. it is a good value for money option for a short stay.
The decor of the hotel is outdated and could use some refurbishment.

I absolutely loved the charming and cozy décor of the guesthouse. The floral wallpaper and vintage furniture gave it a lovely old-world feel that made me feel right at home. The common areas were very well-maintained and spacious, making it easy for me to navigate and relax. Plus, the guesthouse had good accessibility for senior people, with wide corridors and no stairs to climb. It made my stay comfortable and convenient.
I would have appreciated if the children working there had been more attentive and helpful.

The stay at this guest house was amazing! The rooms were spacious and clean, with a nice-sized fridge that came in handy. The bedding and towels were fresh and the Wi-Fi was free and reliable. The housekeeper was super friendly and did an excellent job of keeping everything in order. Despite the en suite being a little tight, it was great to have a private bathroom. Plus, the location was perfect - just a short stroll to the beach. And the best part? The value for money was unbeatable!

The breakfast was brilliant and so were the staff. The room had tea and coffee facilities and great ensuite facilities. Free WIFI was very welcome.
No freeview TV!! Unfortunately, the night we arrived the ceiling was leaking and the poor manager of the hotel had to get in a repair man who was banging around in the ceiling to repair the leak until 2.30am, so both my son and I did not get any sleep. It was just one of those things, and had to be done, nethertheless I would stay there again as this was obviously a one off and couldnt be helped..
